Stockist Spotlight: The Local (Weston, WI)

This is the third in a series of posts that talk about the stores that carry my products. As of today, I have one out-of-state stockist in Wisconsin. This opportunity arose out of a friendship with one of the owners. Britnie and I first met at a craft fair and kept bumping into each other at events for a couple of years. She has since retired from selling at events and can be found at one of The Local's two shop locations.

About The Local

The Local’s first location, found in the heart of downtown Wausau, was opened in July 2017. After a year in a half of being open, owners Alison & Brit decided to expand and opened their sister shop, The Local - Weston, in May 2019. The Weston location is where Thumbprint Soap products can be found.

The shops showcase the best of what Wisconsin and Midwest makers have to offer; the duo is truly passionate about sharing the products and stories of the makers they feature. One of their main goals is to be the "voice" of the makers they showcase in hopes of providing a more personal connection between their customers and the person behind the product they are purchasing.

Alison & Brit have both been a part of the Makers Movement for years, and wouldn’t want to be anywhere else. The uplifting vibes and sense of community that surrounds the movement have been life-changing for both of them. They look forward to continuing to do what they can to support and expand the movement, and spread the word about the importance of shopping locally.
